We handle refund requests fairly. If your promotion had a technical problem — it didn't go live, ran partially, or you were double-charged — write to us and we'll fix it or refund you. For everything else, read on to understand what applies.
Technical failure: promotion never went live → full refund;
Double charge: full refund;
MC Monitor terminates your account for no fault of yours: pro-rata refund for unused days;
Argentine users: statutory pro-rata right for unused days (see Section 4).
1. Overview
1.1. This Refund Policy ("Policy") governs refunds for server promotion packages ("Promotions") purchased on MC Monitor. MC Monitor does not operate a balance or pre-paid credit system — all payments are processed in real time by Stripe.
1.2. This Policy is an integral part of our Terms of Service. Terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
2. How Promotions Work
2.1. A Promotion runs for a fixed period (currently 3 days per package) and activates immediately when your Stripe payment is confirmed. There is no pending or scheduled state — the moment payment clears, the Promotion starts counting down.
2.2. The service is fully rendered when priority placement in the directory has been provided for the entire paid period, regardless of the specific rank position, visitor traffic, or any measurable outcome.
2.3. A Promotion is non-refundable once it has started, except in the specific cases set out in Sections 3 and 4 below.
3. When We Issue a Refund
3.1. Technical Failure — Full Refund
If a Promotion you purchased fails to activate through our fault (e.g., a technical error prevents the promoted listing from going live), we will either activate the Promotion correctly or issue a full refund. Contact us within 48 hours of purchase at [email protected].
3.2. Double Charge — Full Refund
If you were charged more than once for the same Promotion due to a processing error, we will refund the duplicate amount in full. Contact us at [email protected] with your payment reference.
3.3. MC Monitor Terminates Your Account Without Cause
If we close your account for reasons not related to your violation of our Terms of Service, we will refund the pro-rata value of any unused promotion days:
Refund amount = Amount paid × (Remaining full days / Total paid days)
Example: $9 paid for a 3-day promotion, terminated on day 1 → Refund = $9 × 2/3 = $6.00
Partial days are rounded up (e.g., 25 hours of use = 2 full days used).
4. Mandatory Regional Rights
4.1. Argentine Users — Statutory Pro-Rata Refund Right
Under Article 34 of Ley 24.240 (Consumer Protection Law) as amended by Ley 26.361, Argentine consumers purchasing services via distance contracts have a right of withdrawal (derecho de arrepentimiento) of 10 business days from the date of purchase. This right cannot be waived in advance.
Because Promotions activate immediately and last only 3 days, the practical effect is:
- If you request a refund while the Promotion is still active (days 1–3): you will receive a pro-rata refund for the unused remaining days, calculated as: Amount paid × (Remaining full days / 3).
- If you request a refund after the Promotion has ended (day 4 onwards): the service is fully performed and no refund is due.
To exercise this right, email [email protected] from the email address registered to your account, stating "I wish to withdraw" and your Stripe payment reference. We will process the refund within 10 business days of approval.
4.2. EU/EEA Users — Right of Withdrawal (Directive 2011/83/EU)
EU/EEA consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. At checkout, you will be presented with a confirmation that reads: "I want the Promotion to start immediately. I understand that I lose my right of withdrawal once the service has begun." If you confirm this, the 14-day right is waived upon activation, and the Promotion is non-refundable from that moment.
If you do not confirm immediate start, contact us at [email protected] before the Promotion activates and we will arrange a refund for any unused portion, up to the 14-day statutory window.
5. What Is Not Refundable
5.1. No refund is issued for:
- Promotions that ran correctly for their full paid period;
- Unused promotion time when you voluntarily deleted your server listing during an active Promotion;
- Promotions where a chargeback has already been granted by your bank (the funds are already returned);
- Any amount if you cannot verify your identity (we require a response from your registered email);
- Requests made more than 90 days after the original payment, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
5.2. We may decline a refund if we find clear evidence of abuse — for example, a pattern of purchasing and immediately requesting refunds to exploit regional statutory rights.
6. Chargeback Policy
6.1. Please contact us at [email protected] before filing a chargeback. We resolve legitimate payment disputes quickly and fairly without bank involvement.
6.2. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account and active promotions. If a chargeback is reversed in our favor, account restoration requires full reimbursement of the disputed amount plus any chargeback fees incurred.
7. Refund Process
7.1. To request a refund, email [email protected] from your registered account email with:
- Your Stripe payment reference or receipt;
- The reason for your request;
- For Argentine users: the words "derecho de arrepentimiento" or "withdrawal request."
7.2. We review requests within 5 business days and will notify you of our decision.
7.3. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method via Stripe within 10 business days of approval. Refunds are issued in the original payment currency. We are not responsible for currency conversion fees or exchange-rate differences applied by your bank.
8. Changes to This Policy
8.1. We may update this Policy at any time. Changes take effect when published at mc-monitor.app/refund. Changes do not affect Promotions already purchased before the update.
