Hardcore servers

Hardcore servers raise the stakes: when you die, you lose everything — or you are permanently banned from the server. The best Hardcore servers let you spectate after death (so you can still socialize) and often have lives systems (3 lives, then permaban) rather than instant permanent bans. They foster tight communities because every death matters. Hardcore survival servers add a layer of tension where every creeper hiss and lava pool raises your heart rate. Related: Lifesteal servers (kill to steal hearts) and hardcore-lite modes with temporary bans on death.
