Minecraft Server Icon Not Showing — Fix
A blank or missing server icon in your multiplayer list is almost always a file problem — wrong name, size, or format. Here are the exact specs and the fixes that actually work.
The exact requirements
- File name: must be exactly
server-icon.png(lowercase, with the dash). - Size: exactly
64×64 pixels. Anything else is ignored. - Format: PNG only — not JPG, GIF, or WebP.
- Location: in the server's root folder, next to the world and jars.
Still not showing? Try this
- Restart the server after adding the file — it's only read on startup.
- Restart your client too; the icon is cached per session.
- Confirm there's no second misnamed file overriding it.
On a listed server?
