Minecraft PE / MCPE Servers Explained (Mobile)
What used to be called Minecraft Pocket Edition (PE or MCPE) is now simply the mobile version of Bedrock Edition. The name changed, but the server story is the same — here's how mobile multiplayer works today.
PE became Bedrock
“MCPE” was the old name for Minecraft on phones and tablets. Since the Better Together update, mobile Minecraft merged into the unified Bedrock Edition. So today's phone version is Bedrock — it joins the same servers as Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Windows Bedrock, with full crossplay.
Joining a server from your phone
- Tap Play → Servers.
- Scroll to Add Server and enter the name, IP, and port (Bedrock default
19132). - Tap the server to connect. You can also join featured partner servers directly.
