Midpoint launched on July 23rd, 2023 and has been running 24/7 ever since — a semi-vanilla SMP that deliberately strips away the conveniences most servers take for granted. There is no /home, no /tpa, no /warp. Ender pearls exist for a reason, and the world is meant to be traversed on foot, by boat, or by whatever contraption you can build. This is a server where distance matters, where the journey between your base and a friend's settlement is an adventure in itself, and where the 24-chunk view distance means you can actually see the landscape stretching out before you the way Minecraft was meant to look.

🗺️ The World

The terrain generation is pure vanilla — no custom biomes, no floating islands, no gimmicks. What makes the world different is what's been hidden inside it. Scattered across the map are puzzles, custom structures, and unique items that reward players who venture off the beaten path. You won't find signs pointing you toward them. Exploration here is organic, the kind where you stumble upon something strange while mining or sailing and realize the world has more depth than it first appeared.

⚔️ Survival Without Shortcuts

Difficulty is set to Hard. Death is consequential — your items drop into a death chest with a 25-minute timer, giving you a window to recover your gear but not an eternity. There are no crates, no McMMO skills, no pay-to-win ranks dangling cosmetic perks behind a paywall. The economy is entirely player-driven: set up shop with purchasable villagers wherever you want, trade whatever you've got, and grow the market through actual interaction rather than an admin shop. If you can carry it, you can trade it.

Land is protected through a claim system using claim blocks you simply place down. Griefing and stealing are not tolerated, and the server handles its own moderation — there are no chat reports, meaning the staff team deals with issues directly rather than outsourcing discipline to an automated system. The community is described by the players themselves as friendly and thoroughly goofy, a group that posts screenshots on Discord and builds things worth protecting.
